How long before my Qantas flight can I check-in?
Qantas allows passengers to check in at different times depending on how they plan to do it—either online or at the airport. If you choose to check in online, you can usually do it from 24 hours before your flight. Online check-in is available through the Qantas website or mobile app and is the most convenient option. It lets you choose your seat, get your boarding pass, and save time at the airport. This option is available for both domestic and international flights, but make sure to complete it at least one hour before departure for international flights, and at least 30 minutes before for domestic flights.
If you prefer to check in at the airport, Qantas recommends arriving early. For domestic flights, you can check in at the airport from about two hours before your flight, and the check-in counter usually closes 30 minutes before departure. For international flights, Qantas advises arriving at least three hours before your flight. Check-in counters for international flights usually open around three hours before and close 60 minutes before takeoff. If you have baggage to check or need help with your booking, it’s always better to be there early.
Some major airports may also offer self-service kiosks, which are another quick way to check in, print your boarding pass, and tag your bags. These kiosks are usually available from the time the counters open.
To avoid any stress or delays, it’s always a good idea to check in online if possible. It saves you time and helps you avoid long lines at the airport. Also, be sure to check your flight details and terminal information ahead of time, so you know exactly where to go. If you're flying internationally, bring all your travel documents like your passport and visa, as Qantas staff will check them before giving you your boarding pass.
